It's Coke time now!

Looks like Pepsi and Coke can seldom differ! Be it spoofs on each other, or gr8 ads, they seem to have a husband-wife jodi for the creative directors I guess! Coke's latest ad is kewl...from the painful "jashn manale" and nonsensical grooves, they've graduated to a cute ad of celebrating their parrot's birthday-- they give him a cute red mirchi and all of the family is celebrating with Coke...now that's some ad sense for a change :) Nice ad and we sure look fwd to better ones coming :)

Ban Dhoni...ha ha

Pepsi's latest ad is finally original...I have nothing against Pepsico, but spoofs turn me off. It's just the first time that you atleast give it more than 10 seconds or else you feel pity for people who mastermind spoofs on ads, movies (remember Ramgarh ke sholay) songs, etc. Brrrrrrr, ok we were talking about Pepsi's ad which has Dhoni studying everything but books. Cute ad...even cuter narration by Dhoni (pssst pssst my husband wishes to pull out an agitation for the last line "padhaai mein kya rakha hai" inspired by the millions of Mamta Banerjees)! But who cares...when you sit to notice an ad during that commercial break instead of flipping channels and fighting for the remote, you know you've hit the bull's eye! On a scale of 1-10, this ad should probably rate a 6 atleast :)

Happy Independence Day

Of the many people I would like to meet in life, the creative mind behind the Vodafone series of the Pug is someone I would love to chat with for atleast a whole week! The latest ad for Independence Day where the cute little pug also brings in a saffron flower is just out of the world thought! It is so cute, so warm and so sensuous! Just hits a huge chord! The moment the ad ends, you know your eyes turned brimmy! More so cuz me a big dog lover, but am still pretty sure you'd love the ad despite everything!

Maruti's Latest Ad Rocks

Not sure since when, but I've been an ad-buff ever since Televisions were part of our houses (so read, "forever"). Used to be a die-hard fan of "Dream Merchants" which if I recall correctly used to be aired at a God forsaken hour (10:30 pm) on weekdays! But it was definitely worth every minute of it. And luckily for those non-commercial days, it wasn't a programme between ads (it was more of a prog abt ads). So it was 30 mins of gr8 fun watching ads from India, and then the cherry on top used to be the international ads in the end. Now for an era when internet was not even talked abt (or maybe hadn't even touched India), this part of the programme used to be awesome! But then again, what I love about India is that we've reached those levels ourselves today! Our ads match any international standard at any parameter (class, quality, logic, emotions and skin). Maruti's new ad is just one of those!
An ad succeeds if you have goose flesh at the end of it. You know it's struck you at the right place! Maruti's ad on "India comes home in a Maruti" is just that. From a newly wed woman to a student wanting to go home with the placard reading "Need to be home for Diwali", it is just the perfect blend of celebration, love and Indian-ness put together just so perfectly! Add to it, the music....jingles are sure enough a striker, and this one's sure to make you tap your heartbeat to the rhythm there! Way to go Indiaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
